Cap and Gowns

If you plan to graduate and participate in the ceremony on June 8th and HAVE NOT ordered your cap and gown, please see Mrs. Costa in the Office of the Deans as soon as possible.  

Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation Creative Writing Contest

The Katie DeCubellis Memorial Foundation would like to announce its 10th annual statewide contest involving creative writing.    This year's topic is the following: "Peer Pressure Through Social Media".   The writer must depict a real or fictional situation in which an individual's presence on Facebook or Twitter influenced another's behavior and decision-making for better or worse.    Entries should be mailed to the KDMF Creative Writing Contest, c/o Joel S. Chace, 300 Metro Center Boulevard, Suite 150A, Warwick, RI 02886.

This week's scholarship information

We received information about four scholarship opportunities this week.

1) Rhode Island Building Industry Scholarship Fund
There is scholarship money for students interested in pursuing an education in the construction field.  Students may pursue an associate, bachelor or certificate.   The deadline is March 1, 2013.    Additional information is available in the guidance office.  

2) Cox Scholarship Program
Students must demonstrate academic excellence, strong community involvement and a desire to pursue communications, telecommunications, engineering or technology.   The deadline is March 1.   The application can be found in the Guidance Office.

3) The Glen Shorey Memorial Scholarship
Students must be a graduating senior.   Other criteria include 2.8 GPA, financial need, acceptance to a two or four year college or trade school.   Further information can be found in the Guidance Office.  The deadline for this scholarship is April 15, 2013.
